Our 2026 calendar offers diverse opportunities for citizens to engage with regional history, learn hands-on architectural skills, and connect with fellow residents across our rural communities. Registration is recommended solely to ensure sufficient printed documentation and refreshments.
Spring Volunteer Masonry & Washhouse Clearing Morning
Join our outdoor team for the annual spring maintenance of the historic communal washhouse. Volunteers will clear accumulated winter silt, remove invasive ivy from exterior stone masonry, and receive hands-on instruction in traditional lime mortar mixing from master craftsmen. Tools and safety gloves provided. Concludes with a friendly communal refreshment offered by the association.

Dialects of the Borderlands: Between Bourbonnais and Arpitan Speech
An engaging, illustrated public conference featuring audio excerpts from our 2024–2026 oral history field recordings. Guest linguistic researchers will explore the unique phonetic traits of the regional speech transition zone, examining how agricultural terms and folklore preserved ancient cultural contacts. Open question-and-answer session to follow.

Solstice Heritage Discovery Walk: Historic Paths of the Besbre Valley
A guided educational walking tour connecting medieval chapels, ancient sunken cart ways, and panoramic ridge views across the Loire plains. Our volunteer historians will interpret landscape history, agrarian boundary stones, and ancient forestry practices at designated trail waypoints. Accessible for families; walking shoes required.

Journées du Patrimoine: Living Archives & Parish History Exhibition
In celebration of the European Heritage Days (Journées Européennes du Patrimoine), our association presents an open historical exhibition featuring original facsimiles of seventeenth-century cadastral maps, transcription demonstrations, stone masonry tool displays, and continuous screenings of our oral history video archives. Free admission throughout the weekend.

To ensure a safe, inclusive, and enjoyable experience for all participants, we ask attendees to observe the following guidelines:
- No Financial Transactions: In strict compliance with our non-commercial status, no money is collected at our events. We sell no souvenirs, commercial guidebooks, or branded merchandise.
- Accessibility: Our indoor conferences and exhibitions are hosted in wheelchair-accessible municipal buildings. For outdoor heritage walks, route elevation profiles and surface conditions are provided in advance upon request.
- Weather Safety: In the event of severe weather warnings during outdoor field workdays or walks, notifications will be transmitted directly to registered attendees via email or telephone.
